3(c) Educational Qualification:

To apply for BSF Head Constable RO RM 2025, candidates must meet the prescribed educational qualification which are as follows:

For HC (RO)

  • 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized board, OR
  • Matriculation + 2 years ITI in Radio & TV, Electronics, Computer Operator, Programming Assistant, Data Entry Operator, or similar trades.

For HC (RM)

  • 12th pass with PCM from a recognized board, OR
  • Matriculation + 2 years ITI in Radio & TV, Electronics, Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Computer Operator, Programming Assistant, etc.

    🎯 Eligibility for Special Categories

    • Ex-Servicemen: Must have retired with equivalent/higher rank in Army/Navy/Air Force with minimum matriculation qualification.
    • Compassionate Appointment Candidates: Only wards of deceased/retired BSF personnel can apply. They must qualify PET/PST/Dictation/Medical.
    • Serving BSF Personnel (LDCE Quota): Must have 3 years of regular service & matriculation qualification. Maximum age: 35 years.

3(d) Physical Standards:

To be eligible for Head Constable RO/RM 2025, candidates must meet the prescribed Physical Standards as mentioned below:

  • Height: Male – 168 cm, Female – 157 cm (relaxable for certain categories)
  • Chest (Male): 80–85 cm (expanded)
  • Weight: Proportionate to height & age

6: Application Process (Step by Step Guide)

Candidates interested in BSF Head Constable RO/RM 2025 must follow the online application process as which is mentioned below:

  2. Fill the online form between 24.08.2025 (11:00 PM) to 23.09.2025 (11:59 PM)

  3. Pay Exam Fee ₹100 (for UR/OBC/EWS male candidates of HC(RO) & HC(RM))

    • Modes: Net Banking / Debit-Credit Card / CSC Centre

  4. Fee Exempted: SC, ST, BSF staff, Ex-Servicemen, Females, Compassionate candidates

    • Note: CSC charges ₹59 (₹50 + GST) extra

  5. No refund after fee payment

7: Mode of Selection

The BSF Head Constable RO/RM 2025 selection process is carried out in multiple stages to ensure candidates meet the required standards.”

1. First Phase – PST & PET

  • Physical Standards Test (PST): Measurement of height, chest, and weight.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Race, long jump, and high jump (different standards for male and female candidates). Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET.
  • Candidates must qualify in all events to move forward.

2. Second Phase – Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Objective type written exam in English and Hindi, 2 hours duration.
  • 100 questions carrying 200 marks from Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English & GK.
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 38% for General/OBC/EWS, 33% for SC/ST, and 20% for Compassionate Appointment candidates.

3. Third Phase – Document Verification & Language Test

  • Verification of original documents like Aadhaar, educational certificates, caste/EWS/OBC/SC/ST certificates, etc.
  • Dictation and paragraph reading test (for HC/RO only).

4. Medical Examination

  • Detailed and Review Medical Examination (DME/RME) to assess overall health and fitness.
  • Standards include vision tests, absence of communicable diseases, medical history review, and specific checks for male and female candidates.
  • Certain tattoos are allowed only at permitted locations, and pregnancy is a disqualification at the time of test.
