BIS Scientist B Vacancies 2025: Vacancy Details: Total 20 Posts

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or an equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks in aggregate (or 50% for SC/ST candidates).
• Applicants must possess a valid GATE score from the years 2023, 2024, or 2025 in the relevant engineering discipline.

• Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry)
• or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (or 50% for SC/ST candidates).

Selection Process Overview: For BIS Scientist B

1. GATE Score (85% weightage):
   Candidates must have a valid GATE score from the years 2023, 2024, or 2025. The GATE score will be the primary criteria for shortlisting candidates.

2. Personal Interview (15% weightage):
   Shortlisted candidates based on their GATE scores will be called for a Personal Interview. This interview will assess the candidates’ technical knowledge, communication skills, and suitability for the role.

3. Final Selection:
   The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores from the GATE exam and the interview.

Thus, there is no written exam for this recruitment — only a GATE-based selection followed by an interview.

Pay Scale and Grade Pay : BIS Scientist B

• Pay Level: 10 (as per the 7th CPC)

• Approximate Monthly Emoluments: ₹1,14,945/- (including basic pay, allowances, and other benefits)

The pay level is based on the Central Government Salary Structure, and there is no specific mention of “Grade Pay” separately since it is included in the Pay Level 10.
