Age Limit
Age will be calculated as on 01 August 2026
Minimum age required: 21 years
Maximum age for UR / EWS candidates: 35 years
Maximum age for BC-I / BC-II candidates: 37 years
Maximum age for Female (UR / BC / EWS) candidates: 38 years
Maximum age for SC / ST candidates: 40 years
Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of Jharkhand rules.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Graduate Degree from any recognized university in India
Qualifications considered equivalent and recognized by the Central Government are also eligible.

Exam Pattern – JPSC Civil Services Pre Recruitment 2026
Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination is conducted in two successive stages: Preliminary Examination and Main Examination (Written Examination and Interview).
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
- Preliminary Examination consists of two compulsory papers
- Each paper is of 200 marks
- Both papers are objective type (MCQs)
- Duration of each paper is 2 hours
- Question papers are available in Hindi and English
- Papers included:
- General Studies – I
- General Studies – II
- Selection for the Main (Written) Examination is based on the combined marks of both papers
- Candidates are shortlisted in the ratio of approximately 15 times the total advertised vacancies
- Candidates scoring marks equal to the category-wise cut-off are also included for the Main Examination
- Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not counted in the final merit list
Stage 2: Main Examination
The Main Examination consists of Written Examination and Interview Test.
Written Examination
- Written Examination consists of 6 papers
- Selection for the Interview Test is based on:
- Total marks obtained in Paper I to Paper V
- Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks as prescribed
- Candidates are shortlisted for Interview in the ratio of approximately 2.5 times the total vacancies
Interview Test
- Interview Test carries 100 marks
- There is no minimum qualifying mark for the Interview
- Candidates who secure qualifying marks in the Written Examination are called for the Interview
Minimum Qualifying Marks for Merit List
Candidates must secure the following minimum qualifying percentage for preparation of the Main Examination merit list and final selection:

Pay Scale – JPSC Civil Services Pre Recruitment 2026
Candidates selected through JPSC Civil Services Pre Recruitment 2026 will be appointed under the Jharkhand Government pay structure. The salary is offered as per the 7th Pay Commission norms along with applicable allowances and post-wise grade pay.
