Educational Qualification

🔹 Basic Qualification Requirement

• A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

• Minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

• For SC / ST / PwBD candidates, a pass class is sufficient.

• Knowledge of word processing on a PC is mandatory.

🔹 Qualification for Ex-Servicemen

Candidates belonging to the Ex-Servicemen category (excluding dependents of ex-servicemen) must:

• Be a graduate from a recognized University
  OR

• Have passed matriculation (or equivalent) from the Armed Forces and completed at least 15 years of defence service.

🔹 Language Proficiency

Applicants must be proficient (read, write, speak, and understand) in the official language of the state for which they are applying under the respective Recruiting Office.

RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

RBI Assistant 2026 Exam Pattern

I. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

• Only those who clear the Preliminary Exam will be eligible for the Main Examination.
• Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for Mains.

II. Main Examination (Objective Type)

The Main Examination carries higher weightage and determines final merit.

• Approximately 2 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for LPT based on Main Exam merit.
• Final merit is prepared on the basis of Main Examination marks.

III. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination must appear for the Language Proficiency Test.

• Conducted in the official/local language of the concerned state.
• Candidates must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the local language.
• LPT is mandatory.
• Candidates not qualifying LPT will be disqualified.

🔹 Negative Marking

• 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
• Applicable in both Preliminary and Main Examinations.
