3: RBI Officer Grade B 2025 Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria

3(a) Nationality Criteria for RBI Officer Grade B 2025:

To be eligible for the RBI Officer Grade B 2025 Notification, a candidate must fulfill one of the following nationality requirements:

  • Must be a citizen of India, OR
  • A subject of Nepal, OR
  • A subject of Bhutan, OR
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, OR
  • A person of Indian origin (PIO) who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

👉 Candidates falling under categories (ii), (iii), (iv), and (v) must produce a valid eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.
👉 Such candidates can appear in the exam provisionally, but the final appointment will be given only after the eligibility certificate is issued.

3(b) Age Limit:

    • As per the RBI Officer Grade B 2025 Notification, the age criteria are as follows:

      • Minimum Age: 21 years

      • Maximum Age: 30 years (as on September 01, 2025)

      • Candidate must have been born between September 02, 1995 and September 01, 2004.

3(d) Educational Qualification:

👉 Candidates must meet the minimum educational qualifications (as on September 01, 2025) for the respective posts:

  • Officers in Grade ‘B’ (General):
    Graduation with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) OR Post-Graduation with 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD).

  • Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DEPR):
    Master’s in Economics / Finance (55% marks; 50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
    Desirable – Ph.D./research/teaching experience.

  • Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DSIM):
    Master’s in Statistics / Mathematics / Data Science / AI / ML / Econometrics with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD)
    OR 4-year Bachelor’s in the same fields with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
    Desirable – Ph.D./research/teaching experience.

👉 Equivalent CGPA/OGPA will be converted as per University norms.
👉 Relaxation in marks/age applies for reserved categories.

🔹 The majority of vacancies are in the General Cadre (83 posts), while DEPR has 17 and DSIM has 20.

5: Documents Required at Examination

  1. Admit Card (print copy).

  2. Valid Photo ID (Original + Photocopy) – any one of:

  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • Voter ID
  • Bank Passbook with photo
  • Gazetted Officer ID (on letterhead)
  • People’s Representative ID (on letterhead)
  • College/University ID
  • Aadhaar / e-Aadhaar with photo
  • Employee ID
  • Bar Council ID with photo

🚫 Not accepted – Ration Card, Learner’s Driving Licence.

Important Notes:

  • Phase I: 1 photocopy of ID proof.
  • Phase II: 2–3 photocopies of ID proof (for multiple shifts).
  • Name on Admit Card must exactly match Photo ID & certificates.
  • Female candidates after marriage must carry Gazette Notification / Marriage Certificate / Affidavit in original (if name changed).
  • Late entry not allowed after gate closure time.

6: RBI Officer Grade B 2025 Recruitment – Application Process (Step by Step Guide)

Follow the steps below to successfully submit your RBI Grade B online application form:

  • Visit Website – Go to rbi.org.in → Opportunities @ RBI → Grade B Recruitment.

  • Register – Fill basic details & get Registration ID.

  • Login & Fill Form – Enter personal, academic, and exam centre details.

  • Upload Documents – Photo, signature, thumb impression, declaration, PwBD certificate (if applicable).

  • Pay Fee – Online payment (Gen/OBC/EWS: ₹850 + GST, SC/ST/PwBD: ₹100 + GST, Staff: Nil).

  • Submit & Print – Preview form, submit, and download for future use.

⚠️ Important Instructions:

  • Apply only once. In case of multiple submissions, only the latest application with higher RID will be considered.

  • Candidates working in Government/PSU/Bank must inform their employer before applying.

  • No need to upload caste/educational certificates now (except PwBD). Verification will happen at the Interview stage.
